The Multiple Sleep Latency Test (MSLT), which gauges how rapidly a person falls asleep during the day, clinical examination, sleep studies, and other specialized testing are the main methods used to diagnose narcolepsy. Although a brain scan cannot clearly show the primary feature of narcolepsy, a lack of orexin (hypocretin) synthesis, cerebrospinal fluid studies can detect orexin levels. Modalert 200 (modafinil) is one medication that helps control narcolepsy symptoms, such excessive daytime drowsiness, by altering neurotransmitter activity and encouraging alertness.

Modalert 200 improves alertness, decreases excessive daytime drowsiness, and stimulates certain brain regions. Because of its decreased potential for addiction, modalert is seen as a safer alternative to conventional stimulants. It greatly aids in the management of narcolepsy symptoms including exhaustion and cognitive impairment, but it does not treat the condition. Although it's usually well accepted, some people may have headaches or sleeplessness as side effects.
